Would really like to beat Mihawk when that event comes around but just feel like my team is a bit 'Jack of all trades, master of none, at the minute.
I farmed Arlong yesterday so trying to level him up ASAP to get a slasher team on the go but where should I realistically focusing my time and effort afterwards?

Depends on what characters you have. Generally, you should save up your fruits. I would recommend getting a smooth alvida and getting her to level 50. She has great potential and you won't be replacing her anytime soon. Since strength teams are best against mihawk ( double damage) I would recommend gear 2 luffy. So in short arlong, Alvira, luffy, usopp( consider the best special in the game). As for the last spot, maybe smoker is the only other farmable unit worth keeping. But it will change when new units come out and what units you get when you use rare recruit. But forcus on alvida and arlong luffy(captain). All strength units that will be good Mohawk.

BTW nice pulls with ace and Nick Robin. I wish I had your luck. Those two are literally best pulls in game so far.

Are you planning on trying for the Straw Hat V2?

If so, then that might be what decides it for you for when you face Mihawk.

FORCE Based Team
Gear 3rd Luffy or Gear 2nd Luffy
Saw Tooth Arlong
Smooth Alvida
Golden Pound Usopp
Smoker

If you want to focus on an INT burst team with Buggy, Nami, Robin and Golden Pound Usopp as your primaries and add in whatever else you can find:

INT Burst Teams
Buggy
Nami
Robin
Nezumi/Don Krieg MH5/Smoker
Golden Pound Usopp

Towel Nami
Buggy
Robin
Nezumi/Don Krieg MH5/Smoker
Golden Pound Usopp

If you plan on using Gacha for Towel Nami then don't bother with your current Nami though I guess.

Both of the teams should be good enough for 30 Stamina Mihawk with the Gear 3rd Team being probably usable for the 40 Stamina Mihawk

30 stamina Mihawk's drop rate is about 30% while 40 stamina is 100%. Unless you manage to get a Gear 3 Luffy before Mihawk event or plan on using Laboon/"Lion Song" Zoro + Vivi (5* lv72+ for Zoro, lower level for Laboon) I don't see you having a reliable team to defeat even 30 sta version without burning stones to continue. Here is why

30 sta version Mihawk has 590k hp. To get your crew's ability ready (abilities with CD greater than 12 won't be too much help until after you use stone to continue so work on getting your Golden Pound Usopp and Smooth Alvida's CD down) you will likely take some hits before entering Mihawk stage, let's just say you enter Mihawk with 10k hp. Upon entering stage Mihawk pre-emptive strikes for 2k so you are down to 8k. Assuming you brought Smooth Alvida and uses her ability, Mihawk's next hit lands for 1000, you are now down to 7k. If you brought Smoker and his ability is ready then you are able to take 2 more hits at 2.5k each, 3rd attack'd have killed you. However, it's unlikely Smoker's ability will be ready. Smoker's ability's starting CD is 22 I think, in order to use it before Mihawk kills you it needs to be around 15. If you plan on using Smoker's ability after continue then sure, it will buy you 3 more rounds to output. Unless you have a team that's able to burst for 120k+ in a single round you need to save Golden Pound Usopp just before Mihawk is at 20% so you'll have 4 rounds to finishes Mihawk off. Overall the flow of the 30 sta fight will be like

Enter Mihawk stage - take 2k damage (down to 8k)
Your turn to attack
Mihawk's turn - use Smooth Alvida's ability, take 1k damage (down to 7k)
Your turn to attack
Mihawk's turn - take full 5k or 2.5k if you have a low CD Smoker (down to 2k/4.5k)
Your turn to attack
Mihawk's turn - survivable if you still have Smoker's ability up or if you use Golden Pound Usopp's ability. Otherwise this hit will finish you off (down to 0/2k)
Your turn to attack - finish the fight before Mihawk attacks again or start burning stones

If all goes according to plan you should have 7 turns to burn through 590k, roughly 85k damage per turn is needed from your team. If you can't manage 85k per round then depend on your total hp, over 10k = 3 turns per 1 stone while Mihawk's over 20%, 2 turns per 1 stone once Mihawk is under 20%. Under 10k hp = 2 turns per 1 stone while Mihawk's over 20%, 1 turn per stone once Mihawk is under 20%. If you skilled up your Golden Pound Usopp then you can save some stones by using his ability again. Bottom line, with the current available cards, without using Gear 3 Luffy or Laboon/Lion Song Zoro + Vivi team, prepare to fork over 5~8 stones to get your first Mihawk.

If you have Laboon/Lion Song Zoro + Vivi team then I recommend go straight for 40 sta version. It's possible you have to use 1~2 stones to get pass stage one but after that you are essentially guaranteed to get Mihawk without burning additional stones. It's painfully slow but sure way to get your first Mihawk.

Lion Stance Zoro + Vivi WILL NOT WORK for 40 STA Mihawk.....he will do more damage than even a max level Vivi can heal so don't bother with it.

Btw Lux, watch the second video for successes you can beat 30 STA version without revives using a high level Zoro team (~60-70s)

The only team anyone on the global version can beat Mihawk with on 40 STA with the chance of no revives would be Laboon + Vivi and Gear 3rd Luffy but for Luffy, you cant miss those perfects and if you get unlucky with bad orbs you might really get beaten quite a bit.

With Vivi + Laboon you just have to be able to kill the ones you need to before Mihawk so only 1 enemy attacks at one time and you can heal back to over 50% before the next hit.

BTW after reading all the mihawk fight. I wouldn't stress too much about it. Vivi and laboon will come out in the next story town, which will hit weeks before mihawk. Basically whether you spend money to play the game or not. With some farming you will have the Vivi + laboon combo for sure, and the time to level them up.

I am starting to love this game more and more. Never seen a free to play game that give you the chance to compete in current event without spending money.

Given I will be fighting mihawk with my luffy gear 3 team or towel nami team, but I do like the fact a free option is out there.

LOL yea, very true, though at the same time, the hunt for Vivi and Laboon will be fierce and hellish for the unlucky ones I'm sure (I just hope Smoker and Kuro are the only ones I have bad luck with and it wont be the same with Laboon and Vivi)

Relamir you and I are on the same boat. I been trying to farm zeff forever now. About 100 attempts with 30 of which on double drop day, and still I don't have the one legged man.... I am p-lvl 68 and I think I spend 10 lvl of it trying to get him lol.
