How many runs can you do on turtle island (doesn't matter which setup)?
A little guide about Turtle Island
Hey guys,
most of us know the turtle island pretty well, because they did quite some runs on it. Now that my experience with the island has grown and I also play the japanese version, I would like to update this post. I will delete all old stuff that got irrelevant in my arrogant opinion and make you guys a fresh new guide about how to fucking rock turtle island! Also: With Chopper coming in a week and Fullbody that got introduced in global a week ago we now have the possibility to run a relatively safe, very high damage and completely farmable turtle team. I will go into that later.
So you all should know by now that turtle island shows up every monday unless there is an event which modifies the times or add other times like the extravaganza food event that is at the moment in global. Besides that every monday depending on your 6th digit the island shows up. It gives 1230 or 1250 xp depending wether you get a random elder boss or not and it costs 15 stamina.
I won't recall how the times change, because you can just use this turtle time calculator or go to the blog here and read the times.
The benefits of the calculator is that he calculates your time depending on your digit and time zone while you have to convert the times from the blog every time you read them (which is not difficult but some guys seem to be to dumb to do that )
Also the calculator site is nice, because it offers also infos on the chest rotation and even on events if there occur some. It updates automatically and the times get confirmed by it's owner
Since the post would get really really long if I keep updating this guide, I will divide him into various sections that I will include in spoilers. This way you get a better overview

Since the post would get really really long if I keep updating this guide, I will divide him into various sections that I will include in spoilers. This way you get a better overview
- 1. Basics:
So basically there is one major problem about turtles and for example crabs. They have low health, but very high defence stats (armor). So to overcome the defence you have to either
1. do a ridiculous amount of damage
2. attack them with characters that have a high number of combos/hits (like Hachi with )- Combo or Hits:
- This means that he applies eight on hit effects. When the armor of an enemy is very high and you cannot come through it, your attack just applies the number of combos/hits your character has. When you edit your crew, you can see how much hits you characters have. So when you farm turtles it's better to make a complete new crew especially for farming the turtles.
- 2. IMPORTANT UNITS FOR TURTLE ISLAND:
There are some units which are pretty essential to do the turtle island when you don't want to run the marine tandem. So let's say you basically need either
the marine tandem guys
or
Mihawk/Fullbody
or
Shanks/Marco (possibly with Fullbody)
or
a G3 Luffy
I will explain it later on, but for now it's just important that, if you don't have Fullbody, farm him! And if you have him, but he isn't evolved, evolve him! And if he is evolved but not on max skill lvl, try to get his skill lvl to max. Now it doesn't apply to all of you that you need Fullbody, but for those that are curious if they need Fullbody or not, read the spoiler under here.- About Fullbody:
- So why does anyone needs Fullbody? Simply because he was made for turtle island. His special does 200 fixed damage to a single enemy. And on max lvl it has a cooldown from 5 turns so you can simply oneshot the elder turtle. Why is oneshotting the elder turtle so important? When you don't run a marine team, you will eiter run a Slasher team with Mihawk or a PSY team with either Marco or Shanks. Now these teams do enough damage to kill baby and teeanage turtles, but without the right orbs they can't kill the elder. The Slasher team is not able to kill the elder with a maxed Arlong that has his strong orb even if he is at the end of a succesfull chain! But a ralatively high Shanks in a Slasher team with his strong orb could kill the elder at the end of a succesfull chain. So is a Marco or Shanks team with a decent PSY hard hitter at the end of a succesfull chain able to kill the elder.
BUT: you don't have the guarantee that this orb appears. And before you waste two minutes waiting on the right orbs you can just farm Fullbody and get his skill level maxed out! He is safe. So if you want fast and consistent runs, get him!
- 3. Team compositions:
- 1. Psy teams with Shanks or Marco:
PSY burst teams can clear the island relativeley fast and now that I have Marco I will go into details about it. As I don't have Shanks I can't go this deep into him, but a decent Shanks team with a high Shanks should be able to kill the elder even without Fullbody.
BUT: If you have Fullbody and want to make sure to do consistently fast runs, take him with you!
So my absolutely favorite team:
The Marco burst team
Notice: Before I got Urouge it was very difficult to finish off the elder without Fullbody. Now that I got Urouge and my Marco is getting higher I might use another strong PSY unit, but thing is that as every stage has maximal 5 units even with Fullbody you should able to do every stage in one turn. If you have bad orbs then maybe two turns. But in general one turn. And on the last stage Fullbody shines
But Marco has a real drawback. You get the 9 times boost only when your HP is at the beginning of the turn full. So if you run into an elder turtle before the boss-stage you have to wait for Fullbodys special and it is very likely that he attacks you. If you use Fullbodys special after the elder hit you, then you will come to the next stage without the boost (since you are missing a few HPs) and you can't finish the turtles. Now this problem is a beginner problem. If you watch a video like this from jp you see that a decent team doesn't need Fullbody or tricks like collecting the meat before you activate his special:
But if you have a beginner PSY-team like I have your runs will look more like this and you need to pay attention to your meat orbs:
(Sidenote: It's a bad style if you attack with Fullbody. When all your units have atleast 600 attack you don't need his chain power up. Since every stage has only 5 units you can kill all the turtles without him - using him is a waste of your turtle time)- Tipps for Marco teams:
- If you run into a random elder turtle and your FB is not ready then stall for the special. Take Marco for that, he has a short attack animation. If you know that the elder is going to attack you, then attack him with all your units until you get one meat orb. One turn before you activate FBs special get the meat; after that activate his special and you will have your boost back ready to shred turtles.
- Also if you get weak orbs with your strong units like Marco/Shanks/Urouge you can kill baby turtles with them, but if you have weak psy units like Ussop you have to build up a chain to break through an enemy. If you have to kill teenage turtles with weak orbs you have to build a chain. Experience shows that a chain multiplier by 1.6 is enough in most cases.
- In most cases it's more useful to attack with the strong units first (even if they have weak orbs) and then with the weak units since the chain multiplier is working for ya
Possible runs around: 18 (confirmed by myself)
Time per run appr.: 1:45 and less per run
- 2. Tandem teams:
There are tandems like the famous marines-tandem that can clear the island very easily without the need of high attack damage or high hits per attack. I listed some of them below.
The links here are broken at the moment ... I will get them in another time ...- Tips for marine tandem teams:
Tips:
- If you get no Tandem orbs: time your hits the way so that each unit only hits 2-3 times. If you do it right, each unit will only hit 2 times and you can quickly cycle through the orbs. Make sure you have enough HPs to tank the hits. Optional just click all units fast and they will apply around 4 to 5 hits per unit. In the end you can kill one baby turtle per round with this. But for fast tandem changing I recommend the first way.
- If you have at least one Tandem orb: make sure you use the captain who's not part of the tandem first. This way you get 6 chances to get a tandem orb the next round instead of 5.
- If you have two Tandem orbs at least and one of them is a captain: use the captain without an orb for the tandem and save the other Tandem orb for the next round. This way you have two secure rounds with tandem orbs
- If ONLY one Tandem orb and you can clear the stage in one or two rounds using the full combo hits, then save the orb for the next stage, especially if the next stage is the elder stage!
Possible runs around: around ten, maybe more with luck (waiting to be confirmed by you guys)
Time per run appr.: around 3 minutes per run- Little video by recklesshd about the marines tandem and the turtle island in general:
- 3. Slasher team:
- 4. G3 teams:
- 4. Team suggestions:
1. If you have a nice PSY-team ... go for it.
2. If you have Luffy 3rd Gear and some characters with good hits/attack stats then use 3rd Gear with a friends 3rd Gear and some units with good good hits/attack stats. The thought behind it: If you do 3 perfects then you do enough damage to go through the armor, if not you can at least kill one or two turtles per round.
3. If you don't have Marco or Shanks, go for a slasher team with Fullbody if your slasher units are already decent leveled. If you don't have a decently lvled slasher team eiter, then go for a marines tandem since you can do around 10 runs with it. Good enough for startes.
So the use of this three types of teams is Marco > Shanks (and possibly on the same position Monster Chopper) > Slasher/G3 > Marines
- 5. Chopper turtle team:
There is a new team which I already build and which I will add to the list when I used it:
Chopper provides similar like Marco a 3 times boost of your attack but in his case for STR-units. The only drawback is that he cuts the HP from the team by 60 percent. While you would have to plan if you ran a Chopper team on raidbosses in the case of turtle island where 3000 HP is enough there is no real drawback. So after you farm Choppers 4* form you wanna evolve him and pair him with Arlong (best maxed), Luffy 2nd Gear (as high as possible), Fullbody (only important that his special is on max cooldown) and another free units as high as possible like Morgan 3*, Alvida 4* or Mr. 5 4*. Then you pair your team with another Chopper and you STR-units get a 9 times boost. On max Arlong with 1491 atk this is pretty decent! As Chopper has the highest attack in the game so far when maxed, maxing, leveling him for turtle island is strongly recommended. When I get Chopper in global, I will asap evolve him and update the spoiler
- 6. General tips for turtle island:
- You don't need 30 friends of the deserved unit as friends. Having around 15 is enough even when you run Marco. When your list is empty just (force) close the app and restart and you will get around half of your friends you already played with back!
- 7. Edit log:
/edit log: Added pictures for the tandem.
//edit log: deleted some bad parts and added some new stuff. Will go deeper another time Hope it's enough for now
///edit log: made the spoiler sections so that you get a better overview of all the stuff. Furthermore I added stuff at Marco section and the section general tips. Also I am looking for a few numbers. How much turtle runs are possible with different teams? Tell me!
////edit: Fixed some stuff. Most pictures and links are back

Thanks for the guide, I was wondering though if it is that big of a deal. 30 mins is a long time and for those who dont buy gems or refill with gems, I think it's enough time to at least finish 3 times in 30 mins lol

Re: A little guide about Turtle Island
Hey guys,
thank you for the feedback. I will update this guide as I will get more experienced today doing the turtle island and probably i will add more pictures to it (as it was requested). Meanwhile: If you see stuff that needs to be in, do it and post it here, I will add it

Re: A little guide about Turtle Island
Hey Prince,
when you don't have a high lvl team and you just started i could imagine, that it would be important to know how to grind really fast. For instance: You have just 45 Stamina and a weak Int team that you want to get ready for Mihawk. What do? Yeah, farm the turtle island. And of course you wann refill one or two times to get you units asap high lvls. Also dont forget this: I made this guide for the blod group on facebook. They all ask the same questions everytime. Such simple questions that i thought: Yeah, maybe I should do a guide on this. I will expand him in the future to cover the whole thing about the island (digits, etc), stages, etc.

Re: A little guide about Turtle Island
Would it be recommended to use full PSY team rather than marine tandem? I'm using Marine team at the moment but it gets annoying sometimes when you don't get a tandem orb for a while.
The only PSY team I can build with my rolls would be
Max Usopp (for 1.5 boost)
Lv. 33 Vivi
Lv. 26 Mr 2
Lv. 13 Mohji and Richie
Max 3* Chopper
Yeah, they're the weakest teams I have in color at this moment. But if recommended then I can level up some characters to hit atleast 400 dmg minimum. If INT characters can break shield then I can maybe mix it with some of my int characters such as Lv. 50 Vista, Lv 50 Towel Nami? Although, I'm not sure if turtle shields can be broken and blown in 1 hit with INT characters.

Re: A little guide about Turtle Island
A full psy team with a pwerful leader like shanks is BETTER then the marine tandem BUT it has to be really really high. The best team to farm turtles besides marine tandems are high chopper lead teams (monster chopper - not out in global) and high (very high) g3 lead teams with very decent STR units.

Hey Ciro,
found that one, too. Actually there are a few teams that are capable of doing turtle island fairly fast.

Thanks panks!
I will make a new guide on turtle island when I am healthie again. Atm I can't speak a single word without pain. But soon I will make a rundown on Chopper and the "new" turtle setups. though most setups are known, some get more and more interesting as our accounts and units lvl up.

What is more advisable, A full burst psy team or a Mihawk Team with Shanks?

Re: A little guide about Turtle Island
I think its important what captain your friends have
I would say, a PSY team would be better (because all turtles are INT at the island), but in my friendlist only one person has Shanks as captain at the moment
Mihawk is almost every time available... So I would look a little what my friends use...

XJamo a PSY Crew with double Marco or double Shanks as Captains work better than other Crew with these Dark Turtles.
Fortunally on my Friend List I have 5 Marco 5* during Turtle Island and 2 of these with Marco Special at Level 3.
