Is half defense special good? Empty Is half defense special good?

Ive been thinking about keeping my Sanji: Plastic Surgery shot on my main pirate crew. His special halves opponent defense for 2 turns which means my damage would be doubled for two turns, right?

I have 3rd gear luffy so my first three characters do pretty bad damage regardless of their attack and I don't see the point of replacing sanji if his special is that good. 

Should I keep him or is there a stronger character with a similar special?

No, you should not keep him on your team, he is unevolved => He has bad stats
Hawkins would be a better alternative, or Kaku (he doesn´t half the enemies def, but he doubles the effectiveness of your orbs.
Hawkins is available via pulling and Kaku only in the Lucci Eventisle
